How does this work with your current offering? Will I get everything you offer in one solution?

Leapsome HRIS will be an integral part of our all-in-one AI-powered people platform. We offer flexibility, allowing you to choose which capabilities to use. We’ll continue to provide each element of our platform independently.

What value does AI bring to HR?

We believe AI helps HR and people ops professionals accelerate, optimize, and improve decisions created by humans. There are numerous use cases in which AI can either speed up processes (e.g., summarize survey feedback), improve quality (e.g., review writing) or minimize human bias (e.g., when analyzing employee sentiment).

We do not believe AI will or should ever take over the role of managers. This role is nuanced, complex, and ideally tailored to the individual needs, personalities, and development plans of direct reports. A good manager embodies empathy, reason, and the ability to judge situations case by case and recognize that past behavior does not always predict future behavior.

How do I activate Leapsome AI?

Admins can choose to enable Leapsome’s AI features within the admin settings. Once enabled, an AI icon will appear in each module offering AI-powered features. From here on, managers and employees can click the AI icon to use AI features in the respective module.

Who prepares the performance review — the manager or a computer program?

Managers will prepare and input their written feedback for their direct reports based on their assessment of the employee’s performance. If a manager wishes, they can then choose to turn on AI to optimize their written feedback. If they are not a confident writer or need to become more familiar with written feedback best practices, and they also want to ensure their written feedback is productive, well-rounded, and actionable — AI-powered reviews can help. The AI cannot generate feedback from scratch, nor should it. The end result will always be based on the individual manager’s initial feedback and unique to direct reports’ performance.

Does this mean that all employees will receive identical feedback?

The short answer is no. The initial feedback will still always need to be provided by a manager based on their unique perspective from managing the team. The role of a manager is nuanced and complex and must be tailored to individual needs and personalities. AI will not replace the manager’s role or unique perspectives.
If a manager is not a confident writer, they can opt to run their feedback through the AI to optimize it — making it more impactful, easier to understand, and more consistent with feedback best practices.

Is my performance review data safe? If the reviews feature is backed by OpenAI, then doesn’t OpenAI get access to all the feedback?

To ensure this does not happen, we have completed a data processing agreement with OpenAI which binds it to GDPR-compliant processing rules. We’re only sharing the feedback text itself and not any personal identifiers (unless mentioned in the feedback text).

Is it mandatory to use the AI features in Leapsome?

All AI features are optional and need to be enabled by an admin. This means that organizations can choose to switch them on or off. There’s no obligation to turn the AI features on. Customers can still use the Leapsome platform without them.
