More context for the review assistant

AI should make reviews more personal, not more generic, and that’s exactly what this update delivers. Leapsome’s AI review assistant now understands an employee’s competency level and has access to past reviews from the same reviewer. That context helps it ask more relevant, thoughtful questions during the drafting process — for example, following up on a growth area mentioned last cycle or aligning tone and expectations with someone’s current level.

The assistant can now act like a consistent partner in your review process: aware of previous conversations, respectful of progress made, and always guiding reviewers toward meaningful feedback. The result? Reviews that are not just faster to write, but richer, fairer, and more consistent across your organization.

🪄 Surveys AI wizard

Writing high-quality survey questions is one of the most time-consuming parts of running engagement programs. The Surveys AI Wizard cuts that time drastically. It helps HR teams draft, tweak, and organize questions in minutes, proposing items that are on-tone, bias-light, and answerable. Even better, it automatically prioritizes benchmarked questions from Leapsome’s database, so you can compare your results against industry standards without needing to rework your setup.

🧩 HRIS: centralized employee data

New US-specific default employee attributes

HR admins can now track US-specific attributes — like ethnicity, SSN, routing numbers, and veteran status right out of the box. Less manual entry, more compliance peace of mind for US offices. This addition helps distributed teams manage employee data across regions while staying compliant with local requirements. By including these fields as defaults, Leapsome reduces setup time for US-based companies and ensures sensitive data stays organized and secure within one system.

📤 Option to give access to exporting the employee list

Non-admins can finally pull their own employee lists — no more “Can you export this for me?” messages. Finance and ops get what they need, faster and fuss-free. Now, HR teams can delegate access safely while keeping control over permissions. This small update removes a daily friction point and helps teams work more autonomously without waiting for admin support.

💰 HRIS: payroll prep

Improved additional compensation categories — deductions and benefits

Two new categories join the payroll party: Benefits and Deductions. Track perks and withholdings separately, because clarity shouldn’t stop at the payslip. With these categories in place, it’s easier to check payroll data for accuracy and ensure everything lines up before processing. HR and finance teams gain a clearer view of what’s included in each cycle, reducing confusion and rework during payroll prep.

📚 HRIS: workflows

Enroll in Learning Path Workflow

Add “Learning” to your workflows. This new step enrolls users into learning paths on the spot, no settings tweaks needed. This means you can now enroll employees into specific learning paths for onboarding, career track changes, their first manager role, and much more. By embedding learning into workflow automation, you ensure development happens consistently and on time. Whether it’s new hires getting started or managers stepping into leadership training, Leapsome makes learning part of the natural employee journey — not a separate to-do list.

New instant feedback and praise event triggers in workflows

New triggers allow you to nudge folks before appreciation falls off the radar. Configure triggers if someone didn’t receive feedback or praise for a while and send them a nudge automatically. These triggers help teams sustain a steady rhythm of recognition and feedback. Instead of waiting for quarterly reviews, Leapsome encourages meaningful, timely moments of appreciation that strengthen engagement and connection every week.

🏖️ HRIS: absence management

Option to trigger absence approval based on absence length

Set smarter approval rules only flag the long getaways, if you think that’s enough. Short absences can now sail through; extended breaks get a sign-off. This feature helps HR teams balance flexibility with oversight. Everyday requests can move quickly through the system, while longer leaves still go through a clear approval process, keeping workflows efficient and transparent.

Absence calendar to Outlook integration

Approved time off now shows up in Outlook — no double bookings, no awkward meeting invites. Time away is truly time away, and everyone stays in sync. You can configure which absence policies are included in the sync. The Outlook integration saves time for managers and employees alike. Everyone can see who’s away directly in their calendars, so scheduling becomes smoother and teams can plan around absences without extra communication.
